About the Handley Page Victor

The Handley Page Victor was the final development of Britain’s V Bomber trio, alongside the Vulcan and Valiant. Designed for high-altitude nuclear strike missions during the early Cold War, it featured a highly unusual crescent wing designed for efficiency at speed and altitude.

As the strategic role of the V Bombers evolved, the Victor was converted into an aerial refuelling tanker (K.2) and reconnaissance platform (SR.2). In these roles it became a vital support aircraft for RAF operations, including long-range deployments and support for other fast jet forces.

Its elegant design and long service life have made it one of the most iconic Cold War aircraft in RAF history.
