The Airfix 1:72 Junkers Ju 87 B-1 Stuka Model Kit recreates one of the most famous dive bombers of the Second World War. Instantly recognisable by its inverted gull wings and fixed undercarriage, the Stuka became a symbol of early Luftwaffe air power during the opening campaigns of the war.

This detailed 1:72 scale plastic model kit represents the Ju 87 B-1 variant, widely used in the early Blitzkrieg operations across Europe. It offers a classic WWII subject with strong historical significance and excellent display potential.

About the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka

The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was developed in the 1930s as a dedicated dive bomber for precision ground attack missions. Its design prioritised accuracy in bombing runs, achieved through steep dive attacks and a robust airframe capable of withstanding high stress.

The B-1 variant saw extensive use during the early stages of the Second World War, including campaigns in Poland, France, and the early stages of the Battle of Britain. The aircraft became infamous for its psychological impact, partly due to its siren devices that were used during dive attacks.

Although highly effective early in the war, the Stuka became increasingly vulnerable as enemy fighter opposition improved, leading to its gradual withdrawal from frontline daylight operations.
