The Airfix 1:72 Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Model Kit recreates one of the most famous carrier-based fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Known simply as the “Zero,” this Japanese naval fighter dominated the early stages of the Pacific War thanks to its exceptional range, manoeuvrability, and lightweight design.

This detailed 1:72 scale plastic model kit captures the elegant lines of the A6M2b variant, making it a classic and highly rewarding subject for WWII aviation and Pacific theatre enthusiasts.

About the Mitsubishi A6M Zero

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was developed for the Imperial Japanese Navy as a long-range carrier fighter capable of outperforming Allied aircraft in the early stages of the war. Entering service in 1940, it quickly established air superiority across the Pacific.

The A6M2b variant was one of the most widely used early production versions, serving aboard Japanese aircraft carriers and from island airbases across the Pacific theatre. Its exceptional manoeuvrability made it a formidable opponent in dogfights, although its light construction left it vulnerable to later Allied aircraft improvements.

As the war progressed, the Zero’s advantages diminished, but it remained in service throughout the conflict in various roles.
