The General Dynamics F-111 was designed for the USAF as a tactical fighter, but it was re-equipped and from 1981 onwards it was used for electronic warfare. Equipped with the latest electronics, it has the most advanced capability in the western world for tracking the radiation from ground and airborne radar, navigation aids and communications, and also for jamming the if necessary.
