The Aircraft that gave the British the edge during the Battle of Britain. R.J Mitchell's famous design was sleek and fast and in partnership with the Hawker Hurricane, proved to be formidable in stopping the Luftwaffe's plans.

With the air war developments moving rapidly, the RAF needed a fighter that could intercept bombers anticipated to fly at higher altitudes. The Mk.Vb was basically a Mk.I with the newer Merlin 45 engine, a blown Malcom hood, and the 'B' wing which incorporated a 20mm Hispano cannon in each wing.
